2021 September PF Awareness Month
Patient Education Symposium

The KC Foundation for PF,  Dr. Mark Hamblin, and his staff  hosted a virtual Patient Education Symposium.

​

The symposium was held over three Saturdays .

​

  • September 11th

  1.  IPF vs. PF – discussion of different types of pulmonary fibrosis; how imaging and diagnosis may influence management with  genetic tie in.  

  2. Anti-fibrotic therapy and clinical trials.

  • September 25th 

  1. IPF Co-morbidities (Cough, GERD, CAD, OSA).  

  2. Non-pharmacologic Therapy (without medications)  (Oxygen, pulmonary rehabilitation, and other treatments).  

  3. Lung Transplant.  

​

  • October 2nd

  1. PH-ILD – Pulmonary hypertension associated with Interstitial Lung Disease.  

  2. End of Life Care (Symptom management, palliative care, hospice) .
